a different kind of love

i will confess here that i do not love this holiday.  i want to love this holiday, but i just plain don't.

here are some things that i do love instead:

and these.  (do you think i have spring on my mind?)

all of the light reflecting off the snow and making my house bright.

this collaboration.  it makes me feel like i'm in a gallery, somehow.

martha's home collection.  available on monday.

the olympics.

baking cookies with my children.

this show at eyebuzz gallery.

blair's quilt.

the fact that we're half way through february, which means that march is only 14 days away.

this cake.  which i've made over and over again and which i'm making for dessert tonight.

. . . . . . . .

also.  i'm late in mentioning two important things.

the first: we have three very special guests at habit this month.  i hope you'll visit.

and the second: i'm honored to have six small paintings hanging in the enormous tiny art show 7 at nahcotta gallery this month.  i'm blown away to be in such good company.

. . . . . . . .

wishing you some chocolate today.  and lots of love everyday.

I think there are loads of people who don't like *this* holiday because they feel that it has been forced on them... and that it's not real. But love is real! Thanks for your lovely post.

Enjoyed your post. I'm not a Valentine's Day person myself. I'd rather stay home and have a low key evening...no gifts and hubbub. We ate homemade pasta primavera, and smoothies for dessert. And yes - springtime please!

valentines day was a bit of a non event for us - we are well entrenched in the Olympics and it is the beginning of Lent.

I am enjoying Habit this month.

Goodness..! Somehow I missed this post! Congratulations on having your work at a gallery, Emily!! And I'm actually so glad, in a way, to have visited today, for I can say to you: Happy March, my friend. I know you've been waiting for this month with great anticipation!

Wishing you lots of love and chocolate today and always, dear.

I somehow missed this post too...odd.

Aren't Flora Grubb's vertical succulent gardens great! I'm also enjoying Heather and Shari's collaboration--such beautiful work. The woodblock print set is wonderful too.

What a nice selection of goodies.

Oh no...there I am up there (twice now). I did see this post earlier. I guess I was in a different frame of mind, focused on other aspects of the post. Funny.

Wandering around blogland today, I found your delightful blog with your wondrous list of marvelous things. The poem was gripping and, haven't we all felt the same, at one time or another? Yet, life is so good and precious and to be held closely, cherished, shared.I give you this gift, my poemhttp://thistlecovefarm.blogspot.com/2009/05/time-is-fleeting-wear-purple-now.html and hope you enjoy.
