circles on deck (and a snippet of conversation from my everyday life)

circles (and lines)

more lines and circles

driving to gymnastics on tuesday afternoon, alone in the car with l. (age 5), we happened upon a fire truck and an ambulance and a car that had crashed into the side of the road.

l: what happened?

me: looks like that car crashed.

l: good thing it wasn't us.

me: yes, good thing it wasn't us.

l: because i'm not wearing such nice shoes.

of course.

Brilliant! My daughter at age 5 once commented on the dilemma of choosing her underwear for an ordinary day! Her dilemma was fairy knickers or cat knickers. "You never know who might see it Mumma, ambulance drivers might not like fairies!?"

Do we have the same 5 year old daughter? When mine was 2, she stopped a complete stranger in a hotel lobby, with "nice shoes, I try?". The woman let her, the shoes were turquoise suede Jimmy Choo mules with a big buckle. Just in case you are wondering, she didn't learn how to recognise the Jimmy Choo's at home - I have none!

Too funny! I'm glad to see that she has her priorities straight. I know my 5 year old is very particular about her footwear.

Oh goodness! What a little dolly!Mine are so the opposite, we may get to our destination only to discover that 2/3 of the crew has no shoes at all. Half the time that goes for underwear too.I think I'm going to have them all tattooed, "Mama Tried", by way of a disclaimer :-)

cute.

Did your family ever tell you to wear clean underwear in case you get in a car accident? My, that probably sounds lewd to be posting to cyberspace... But your little one's comment reminded me of silly things like that.
